British businesses will now have access to more knowledge and support as a new mentoring scheme launches, and through a brand new web portal, www.mentorsme.co.uk . The Government has worked alongside the private sector to improve access to, and stimulate the demand for, mentoring.

Set up by the UK’s five largest high street banks, the scheme will offer support on a range of issues faced by businesses, from finance to marketing to HR.

Vince Cable wants to see as many business people as possible to sign up to his 40,000-strong mentor network and help new and growing businesses. To make it easier for people to get the mentoring help they need, the Business Secretary outlined the Government’s plans for a new single network of mentoring providers. This network of experts will help start-ups, growing companies and businesses seeking financial mentoring.
