Electricity customers can claim £200 a day for 'poor' service
Electricity companies are to be charged from £10 to £200 a day for industrial customers being let down, reports the Daily Telegraph.
It is the first time homeowners and businesses trying to connect to the grid have been able to bill the electricity network operators for damages. Ofgem, which has introduced the scheme, said "poor" customer service levels had driven the changes. Last year, the watchdog fined EDF £2m for breaching a separate set of connection standards.
Companies can cut their energy costs by 30% & meet new CRC laws says BSI
Too many organizations use too much energy. This is simply because they are not looking closely and systematically enough at their energy usage. A powerful new tool will allow companies to reduce costs considerably. The BSI Kitemark® scheme for Energy Reduction Verification (ERV) will verify and certify those organizations that achieve a reduction in carbon emissions through lower energy consumption. Businesses will not only be able to cut costs, they will also be contributing to the global efforts on fighting climate change.
