Growth depends on learning new skills in sales and marketing
In the FSB's ‘Voice of Small Business' survey panel of 1,700 small businesses, almost half (46%) said that sales, marketing and PR training for themselves would help their business to develop or grow. Just over a third (34%) said similar training for their employees would also have the same positive impact on the growth of their business.
How to make training work
As a training professional for over 20 years, I am always disheartened to hear people say that they have invested heavily in training their employees and yet seen no significant benefit. There is a very good reason why traditional training fails to deliver sustainable positive results.
What is the best way to train sales staff?
Few organisations are managed on a purely behaviour-oriented or performance-oriented basis. In most company sales management and sales assessment systems, one or other form of management predominates. This bias has a major influence on the way sales training is delivered to these organisations.
