Heard a piece on Radio 4 this morning about how UK banks are still not lending to SMEs. Some guy from Cass Business School was saying how the UK's economy was driven mainly by SMEs, but all the banks are huge, whereas in the US it's the other way round - mostly big corporations and many, many small banks. It got me thinking.... is there any reason why UK businesses can't go overseas to source funds - US, Aus, France...? Are there risks apart from exchange rates?
