A word of warning if you rely on a car/ van to do business: check your driving licence - it may have expired.
Photocard licences, which began in 1998, are only valid for 10 years. The date they expire is down as 4b on the front of the card.
Not realising this will leave you with a £1,000 fine and probably no insurance. And not being aware is no defence in law.

£20 processing
How on earth can they justify charging £20 for renewing your driving licence? It's inconvenient to do it in the first place and of little apparent benefit to the motorist. It strikes me the fee is just used to subsidise unnecessary jobs for civil servants.
I can't see it costing anywhere near that much to produce them...
I'd also add a note that IF you ever have to send your licence off to the DVLA, that it's wise for you to take a good quality copy of it and perhaps even get a witness to sign it, as I've heard of folk losing categories off their licence when they have sent them away for what ever reason. If you drive for a living, this could prove to be disasterous!
