If users can't depend on security & operators can't depend on remote servers, will they feel safe in the Cloud? Probably less so than a month ago.
Not only have we seen Sony (slowly and very reluctantly) admitting hackers had stolen credit card and other information on 77 million users of its online entertainment and gaming networks. But we've also seen Amazon's giant server farms go out of action, paralysing the services of commercial users such as Foursquare, Quora, Hootsuite and scores of others.
It's inevitable the businesses and consumers will regard online services with a greater degree of caution after high-profile events like these. But will it have any significant impact on the rush into the Cloud?
