I simply want to record calls (made on a standard landline) in a more convenient way than onto a tape machine. These are long (hour) interviews and I need to be able to refer back to check facts and access old info in the future.
Since the system does not tell me there has been a reply.
Phile, could I suggest taking this off here - perhaps an email to info@combyne.co.uk would speed matters along?
Hi Phil,
There are devices out there that plug into a standard analogue line in between your phone and the BT socket. Heres one example: http://www.1topstore.com/product_info.php?language=en¤cy=GBP&produ...
Another option albeit more complex is to use a software exchange solution such as Asterisk which would have call recording built in. You can still route calls out to your analogue landline or indeed a VoIP/SIP digital connection that uses your Broadband connection. This option might be slightly overkill for your needs.
A third option would be to route your calls through a third party number. The third party then record your calls for you and allow you access to them via a web URL or somesuch.
Please be aware however that you MUST tell the person you're recording the calls. I believe that this is a legal requirement.
Hi Phil
Yes, there is a way of achieving that, since that is a service already used by countless telephone providers in the UK, especially for clients within the financial services industry.
Please tell me more about what you are seeking to achieve, and I will advise how a solution would work and the investment involved.
