In the current climate is it right to cut training budgets or should training be increased?

Bespoke training
I am in the middle of some bespoke training for Twinings Tea. The issue when training is delivered on the customer's site is that people are often called away during sessions or make excuses not to attend. I get paid so it's not a problem for me but the quality suffers for the deleagtes. It is a hard balancing act. If the company has a good attitude to training the sessions are good and fruitful.
Hi, In answer to your question - my personal opinion is - If a company feels it needs to cut training budgets - lets face it unfortunately when companies need to make savings its the first that tends to be reduced - it absolutely fundamental that what budget they have training is maximised. More importantly the training which is being delivered is of a good quality standard.
I'm a firm believer in bringing the trainer into the company (if you have the numbers to do so) training becomes far more cost effective and the courses required can be bespoked to the companies needs and requirements. So you get best of both worlds reduced training budget but cost effective training.
