0

When it comes to running a successful online business it does take a considerable amount of time and some money but you cannot consider your time spent as a cost or as a waste of lost money.

You will find that to start up and maintain a web site is more time consuming than money consuming.

How you need to look at this is that the time you take to set everything up and then market your web site will determine how successful you will be. If all you do is worry about how much time you are spending without instant income then it shows a lack of fore sight and planning.

Plan Your Time And Money

When you decide that you wish to enter into the field of online marketing, time is the biggest resource that you will be using. Take the steps to organize yourself so you can utilize your time efficiently.

Your plan should be well detailed. Every little step from taking a blank computer screen and converting it into a full fledged running web site. That is your goal statement.

Plan each step but don't worry so much about how much time it might take you to do certain things. Just be sure you do them right the first time instead of having to keep going back and re-doing things that you didn't take the time to do right in the first place.

Part of your plan should be your budget. If you did your research correctly you will be able to approximate how much things are going to costs and write a budget accordingly.

Costs

When it comes down to cost there are three kinds --

  • Start Up Cost
  • Fixed Cost
  • Variable Cost

Your start up cost will include buying a Domain name, paying for a hosting service, any hardware or software you might need, office supplies and of course, time.

Since you are running your online business out of your home, your fixed cost will be very small. Your Internet connection and hosting service will be your fixed cost.

Your variable cost will be a percentage of your office space that you can deduct for tax purpose, electrical cost , office supplies and advertising and of course time.

Implementing Your Plan

This is a big key in your development. Sticking to your plan and budget will lead you towards your ultimate goal of having a completed web site that is off and running.

Treat your newfound business just like you would if you were getting up to go to work. This is your work. Follow your plan, your time commitments and be sure and hit your daily, weekly and monthly goals that you set for yourself.

Spend your time wisely and effectively each and everyday, and by following your plan and budget, you will succeed.
